from New iPhone Apps to go to Nonprofit Organization San Diego,
California (July 7, 2009) - Luksor, an emerging iPhone application
development company, announced today that it will be donating five percent
of all proceeds from sales of the newly released Safarees Touch 'n Color
iPhone applications to the African Wildlife Foundation, the leading
international conservation organization focused solely on Africa. Generating
funds for conservation will help the African Wildlife Foundation protect
endangered and imperiled species such as lions, mountain gorillas and
elephants, and safeguard the land these wild animals depend on for survival. "The Safarees characters really inspired
us to give something back to help the environment and endangered species,"
said Steve Lukas, Founder and CEO of Luksor. "The African Wildlife
Foundation is a wonderful organization that is making a difference,
and we're pleased to have them as a partner." The Safarees iPhone applications are
a series of coloring books that revolve around a group of young safari
animal characters. Over 50 different crayons can be used to color the
10+ page books, which take advantage of pan and zoom technology to meticulously
color in detailed areas. Completed scenes can be saved to the phone
and printed out or used as wallpaper. "The Safarees series will help us engage
a technologically-savvy and entertainment-minded generation in protecting
wildlife for the benefit of people," says Dr. Patrick Bergin, CEO
of the African Wildlife Foundation. "Conservation in Africa is also
key to maintaining global biodiversity and mitigating climate change." The first two coloring books in the series, "Colby Is Listening" and "Haylie Has a Secret", are currently available in the App Store for $1.99. About Luksor About the African Wildlife Foundation The African Wildlife Foundation
